History of Covid 19

Covid-19 originally started in Wuhan, China. Most people probably knew this long ago, but do you really know what happened?
On 17 November 2019, the first case of Covid-19 (also known as Coronavirus Disease 19) was transmitted to a 55-year-old individual from Hubei, Wuhan’s province, in China. According to the South China Morning Post, doctors are not 100% sure that this was the “first case” of Covid-19. There may have been another case before. Scientists have suspected that SARS-CoV-2 (Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, belonging in the same family of coronaviruses) was from a bat and had somehow infected another animal - possibly a pangolin - which finally entered human bodies.
By 6 June 2022, the infectious virus had already reached over 2.1 million citizens in Wuhan, killing 14,612 people in the country. On October 4, 2023, there were already 771,151,224 confirmed cases of COVID-19, together with 6,960,783 deaths. On 26 September 2023, a total of 13,513,207,331 vaccine doses were administered.
As expected, this was not the first pandemic ever to happen. The Covid-19 virus has become the fifth documented pandemic. The first one that was noted down happened in 1918. At this period of time, there was a flu pandemic. Back in 1918, about 675,000 people who were infected didn’t make it. On the other hand, Covid-19 had infected and killed at least 67.1 million people by 2022.
