Closing the Gender Pay Gap: A Step Towards Women’s Economic Equality

In the past few years a lot of people are starting to be aware of this thing we call ‘gender equality’ and the confusion and concern it’s starting to cause. And one of the problems that exacerbates this issue is gender differentiation, which further widens the pay gap between the genders. Despite the effort on reducing gender inequality, the gender pay gap has continued to become a persistent concern for people around the world and women continue to earn less than men at the workplace. Although these impacts have certain consequences, it seems like not everyone is aware of this.

Due to the rising problems of this case, many women have often faced distress and disheartening experiences from how men are paid more than women. It is as if women are being unfairly judged or maybe overlooked. Unfortunately, this is true and this is no longer considered as a phenomenon spreading around the world.

Aside from the workplace, it applies the same for women working as a housewife in a house. Mens work in offices and do not do anything else but just work. While women as housewives would need to do all the chores and needs for their children, husband and other people. They cook, clean and work non-stop everyday and maybe they fall sick more often because they do not take care of themselves properly.

It appears that people are not aware that gender does not change the fact that everyone no matter the gender, race, and age is equal. But instead, women suffer more than men which is quite an interesting phenomenon happening around the world. Before being a man or a woman, we are human. Both genders have different strengths and weaknesses and no gender should be underestimated.

To reduce the impacts of these cases, there are some precautions we can take to help. First, we can teach and make people aware that gender stereotypes are very wrong and should not be done at all. Children should be taught that everyone has different abilities regardless of gender. They should also understand gender-neutral language, which is trying to avoid making stereotypes and assumptions towards each other's gender.

Gender stereotypes are highly advised against to do because it is also considered as an offensive action to do either towards men nor women. Everyone is equal in this universe and nothing can change this fact. We should be aware that even though we may not stop the madness of gender stereotypes, we can still try to reduce the amount of victims this phenomenon takes.
